Barley Grits are made by milling barley grain into small pieces. They can be substituted in recipes calling for corn grits or meal or eaten as a hot breakfast cereal. Barley grits are a good source of protein and dietary fiber. To cook in a saucepan bring water to boil add the grits then turn the heat to low. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes. Made just like oatmeal!
