Coconut oil can be either a solid or a liquid. It melts quickly and at just 76-78 degrees F. For use in your baking or cooking – it can be substituted 1:1 for other types of fats or oils like olive, canola or vegetable oil. It is typically used in low to medium heat like Asian cooking & baking desserts. With approximately 90% saturated fat and a smoke point of 350 F – many have suggested that coconut oil is suitable for deep frying at mid-range temperatures.
